Founded in 2012 by Gabriel Hendifar and Jeremy Anderson, Apparatus is a New York-based design studio renowned for its interdisciplinary approach to lighting, furniture, and objects. Rooted in the Modernist ideal of Gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art), Apparatus combines sensual materials like marble, suede, horsehair, and hand-patinated brass, blending rigorous craftsmanship with rich narrative. Each piece is crafted in Apparatus’ New York factory, balancing mechanization with hand-made artistry, resulting in distinctive, soulful objects that embody both perfection and the natural irregularity of human touch.
