Ecart
Known for its timeless reissues and original creations that bridge modernity, history, and refined craftsmanship.
Founded in Paris in 1978 by Andrée Putman, Ecart emerged from a desire to rediscover and revive the overlooked masters of early modern design. Through meticulous research and an instinctive eye, Putman reissued iconic works by figures such as Eileen Gray, Jean-Michel Frank, Paul László, and Robert Mallet-Stevens, bringing their timeless forms into a contemporary context.
Over time, Ecart evolved beyond reissues, collaborating with contemporary designers and developing original pieces through its own creative studio. Alongside its editions, the Ecart interior design studio created distinctive spaces for the worlds of fashion, culture, and design.
Rooted in an appreciation of history yet always looking forward, Ecart continues to explore the dialogue between past and present—where enduring design, craftsmanship, and contemporary life meet.
