Paul Evans (1931–1987) was an American designer and sculptor, renowned for his innovative furniture pieces that combined artistry and craftsmanship. After studying at prestigious institutions, he became famous in the 1960s for his collaborations with Directional Furniture, particularly his iconic ‘Cityscape’ series. His work often featured textured, hand-welded metal surfaces in materials like copper, bronze, and steel, blending sculptural form with functional design. Evans is celebrated for pushing the boundaries of furniture design, creating pieces that are now highly collectible for their artistic and craft-based approach.
